Summertime
Summertime has definitely arrived in Ruston! We can feel it in the temperature outside and the rise in our electric bills, but in the church, there are other indicators. The Summer is a season of busyness in the life of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Some weeks it seems we are scattered in a hundred different directions. Our preschool’s summer camp is in full swing, and Vacation Bible School is almost in the rear view. Both activities make for some eventful weeks. As I am writing this newsletter, I see deacon ordination, a youth trip, July 7th church cook out, a mission trip, and children’s camp all coming up next month. We have plenty to pray for, and I would encourage every member to bathe these activities in prayer. God is so good and it is by His blessing that we are able to do these things. Before we know it the school-year will be approaching again! Below you will find the Sunday sermon schedule for July:

Revival with Reggie Bridges and H.B. Charles
You may have seen some of our publicity through social media for our upcoming revival, August 25-28. While it is still a couple of months away, l would encourage you to begin praying and help us get the word out. We will kick off the services at 6:00 Sunday night with Dr Reggie Bridges preaching, and 6:30 Monday-Wednesday with Dr. H.B. Charles leading us. Dr Bridges is the Pastor at Temple here in town and is a great expositor of the Word. Dr. Charles is a world-renowned preacher and speaker. He is a wonderful expositor, and he preaches with something preachers of another era called “unction.” It is going to be an edifying time in the life of our church, and I pray, our community. Bro. Dee Alexander will be leading our times of singing. You will not want to miss a night. We are also planning to have a pastors’ luncheon on Tuesday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Charles will be encouraging pastors at that time and there will be a time for questions and answers. The preacher does not bring a revival, no matter how good the sermons. Let’s join together and pray for a stirring of hearts and minds to repent of sin, strive for holiness, and live for His glory!
